Frances has studied painting since she was a child. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, she often watched her grandfather paint after he retired as President of the University of Kentucky. She has studied with several renowned artists over the years and attended the New York Institute of Art and Design. Her work, primarily in oil, includes still lifes and landscapes. Frances has won several awards and accolades from her peers over the years. Her work has been shown in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions, including the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the Penn Medicine Art Show and Daylesford Abbey, as well as in several area galleries. Frances signs her paintings “Jewell” in honor of her step-grandmother, Frances Jewell McVey. Her paintings are in several private collections.
