Driven by curiosity and a desire to continue to learn, Terriās art journey has led her in many directions. Starting with watercolor, she painted florals and still life inspired by her gardens. Next came using wax as a resist while painting on rice paper. The textural effect gave a new look to familiar subjects. Color has always been a focus in her paintings so brighter color, the ability to add a variety of textures and being able to frame paintings without glass led to learning to use acrylics on panels.

While florals and still life continue to be favorite subjects, hiking in the mountains and travel have provided lots of reference material to explore with paint. Landscapes with water and rocks are particular favorites. Workshop exercises led to more playful pieces that are largely based on imagination and more abstract concepts. Covid came with lots of time to experiment and learn as well as a challenge to take her interest in abstracts further by doing a large commissioned painting. Combining genres, exploring new subjects and continually experimenting with different materials fuels the joy she hopes to convey in her paintings.

Following college and jobs in higher education in Oregon, a move to Charlotte allowed for two years of college drawing courses. Moving again, her art education was self-directed with books, videos, classes and workshops while also working. Relocation to West Chester, PA came with her own studio and time to devote to learning to paint. She continues to take classes, workshops and view the work of other artists to keep growing and improving her work.

Terri is a signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Baltimore Watercolor Society. Recent group art shows include the Philadelphia Water Color Society International Juried Exhibit, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society's International Juried Exhibition, Baltimore Watercolor Society's Mid- Atlantic Regional Exhibition, Malvern Retreat House Art show, Historic Yellow Springs Art Show, Chester County Studio Tour and ACT International Exhibition.
