Ryan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin—Stout in 2002. In 2004, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from SUNY College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He is a practicing studio potter who strives to create pieces with a strong contemporary edge that are both functional and beautiful. His repertoire includes vases, jars, teapots and tableware. He has participated in numerous national juried and invitational exhibitions since 2000. Ryan currently is a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.
