Serenity

My role as artist is to listen to the clay. Sometimes the clay only whispers softly, like a quiet pool. This piece was created from a thick slab made with clay dug in Delaware County. The shape it took in my hands and the final form that was revealed through carving is the earth's story, what it asked to be. For display or for serving. May it always hold serenity. Food safe
