Terms & Conditions

General Information about the Art Show:
 You may exhibit in any or all of the categories listed on the following page.  No etchings or nudes permitted.

  1. All work to be hung must be framed, in good condition, and wired for hanging.  Damaged work will not be accepted.
  2. All work must be for sale.
  3. All work must be delivered on the Art Drop-off Days with the Artist’s Name, Title, Medium and Sale Price printed and securely taped or fastened to the back of each piece. 
  4. A 35% commission will be deducted from the sale price for the benefit of the Academy of Notre Dame.  A check in the amount due to the artist will be mailed within 30 days of the show’s closing.
  5. All work on the Academy of Notre Dame premises will be insured while in Notre Dame’s care. Notre Dame is not responsible for work in transport to or from the show.
  6. All shipping and transportation expenses are the responsibility of the artist. 
  7. The hanging and placement of all artwork will be the responsibility of the Art Show Committee of the Academy of Notre Dame.  The arrangement of pieces within the mansion is at the discretion of the committee.
  8. All work must be delivered on Friday,  January 20, 2017 between 9 AM-12 PM or on Saturday, January 21, 2017 between 9 AM-12 PM
  9. All unsold artwork must be picked up on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 between 8:30 AM-12 PM or 4-6 PM, or on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 between 8:30 AM-12 PM.  We will not be releasing work prior to the end of the show on February 6th.
  10. Notre Dame will provide the bins for original bin work.
  11. No reproductions will be accepted.
  12. Items made from commercial kits or those mass produced and imported are not permitted.
  13. We request that prior work submitted to the NDA Art Show not be submitted again to the show.  The Art Show Committee reserves the right at Artist Check-In to decline work that has been in a previous show or which otherwise does not meet the designated criteria.
 Categories:

Hanging Art

  • Original Art:  You may submit up to 3 framed works not to exceed 36” x 40”.
  • Original Miniatures:  You may submit up to 8 framed works not to exceed 8” x 10” framed.  New this year, we will be releasing sold miniatures during the show and replacing the display with additional artwork.  Please include a secure box or container labeled with your name for storing additional artwork more than 4 miniatures.
  • Original Bin Work:  You may submit up to 6 unframed original works that are matted, if necessary, and covered with acetate to protect the artwork.

 Three-Dimensional Art

Sculpture, Glass, Wood and Pottery:  You may submit up to 10 original pieces. New this year, we will be releasing sold pieces during the show and replacing with additional artwork as pieces are sold.  Please include a secure box or container labeled with your name for storing additional pieces if you are submitting more than 6 works.
  • We cannot accept work that requires connection to an electrical outlet for display, such as lamps or other similar items.
 Please respond with your interest to participate in the Art Show by going to the website (instructions below) and registering for the show beginning October 10th.  Registration begins October 10th and will be open until November 1st.

Click the green button (link) at the top right of the screen “Register.”
Complete all the fields including creating a password and entering your biographical information. Biographical information can be cut and pasted from a preexisting document. This information is necessary in order to highlight our participating artists in the Art Show Program.  (If you participated in last year’s show we still need you to fill out the entire registration again.)
We will send a second mailing and email with submission directions once we receive your RSVP.
 
Please note:  all submissions must be in the website by midnight on January 7th, 2017.    Invitations to the Preview Party held on January 27th, will be mailed in late December.  If you have any questions, please contact Denick Herrin, Art Show Chair or Sophia Langley, Chair of the Artist Search Committee.
