Wackadoodle
Acrylic on canvas panel. I find it interesting and challenging to paint a portrait when the face is doing something other than normal, as in sleeping, or joking. The structures under the skin are very different than what you expect in a traditional pose. I'm having some fun with the traditional portrait.

Bio
Although Lolly recalls that she loved doing artwork her whole life, she abandoned art for 30 years while she worked and raised her daughter. After retiring from her job as a hearing officer for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Appeals Board, Lolly signed up for weekly drawing classes at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. The class was cancelled, but another in landscape painting was starting. She has since studied painting and drawing at the Main Line Art Center and participated in an open studio with fellow artists at the Perkins Center for the Arts. Lolly’s favorite subjects are beach scenes as well as portraits, still lifes and landscapes. She works mainly with acrylics on canvas or canvas panels. Lolly has participated in several juried and invitational exhibitions where her work has garnered awards. In addition, the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging selected one of her paintings as its signature artwork for its publications and advertising materials. Lolly is a member of the Ocean City Fine Arts League and exhibits her work there on an ongoing basis.
