Dan is a glass artisan residing in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he has studied and worked at Bucks County Community College. He blows his glass at his own studio in New Hope Pa and to further his glass blowing studies he has taken classes at many east coast studios including the Corning Museum of Glass where he studied with the Muranese Maestro- Davide Salvadore, Janusz Pozniak and John Miller. Dan experiments with creating diverse sculptural and functional forms out of glass using intricate murrini (an Italian term for colored patterns or images made in a glass cane (long rods of glass) that are revealed when cut in cross-sections). This technique allows him to explore surface dimension and lends an organic feel to his pieces. Dan’s love of nature has been an inspiration for two of his blown glass series: Landscape—where he has layered the colors of the earth and sky in organic, painterly composition; and Ocean Waves—where he has depicted the simultaneous calmness and turbulence of water’s movement. Dan is a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, The Stained-Glass Association of America and The Glass Association of America.
