My role as artist is to listen to the clay. Sometime is speaks softly and other times it is a book of poetry. This piece was created from a thick slab made with clay dug in Delaware County. The shape it took in my hands as I pinched and stretched it, and the final graceful form that was revealed through carving is the earth's story, what it asked to be. For display or for serving may it offer grace to all. Food safe
